Cafe Sunflower. . . Again!
Unfortunately the Sandy Springs location is now closed, but you can still support this amazing restaurant at their Buckhead location. There is plenty of parking in the area, so you shouldn't have trouble finding a spot. The inside is comfortable and quiet with dim lighting, the tables are not too close together, and there were fresh flowers on every table. Such a great space enjoy a meal and conversation.
We started off with two appetizers, the Artichoke & Spinach Dip and the Pan Fried Dumplings.
The appetizers came out quickly and did not disappoint. The spinach dip we've had before. Made with vegan cheese and served with the perfect portion of organic chips. It's yummy and a great amount of food for two people. One thing we would love is the addition of some large pieces of artichoke. <3
The pan fried dumplings are nice and crispy on the outside and come with a soy-ginger dipping sauce. The inside of the dumplings is filled with Asian cabbage, carrots, tofu, black mushrooms, and spinach. The plate came with six dumplings and was garnished with spinach. So so so good, we love these dumplings. This was also a great portion size for an appetizer for the two of us.
For dinner we got the Shrimp Tacos and Sesame Soy Chicken
The tacos are made with flour tortillas, fried vegan shrimp, and topped with fresh veggies (red cabbage, carrots, and lettuce). A roasted pineapple habanero glaze and chipotle aioli is drizzled over last. The dish also comes with chips and salsa. These tacos are absolutely delicious. Soft tortillas, crispy shrimp, fresh veggies, and an awesome sauce. What more can you ask for?
The Sesame Soy Chicken comes with fried soy chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, sweet and spicy garlic sauce, and garnished with sesame seeds. It is served with a side of organic brown rice. We've also have tried this before and in our opinion it tasted better this time around. Last time it didn't have much spice, but this time it had a very pleasant heat to it.
Finally, we couldn't say no to taking home some dessert, so we got the seasonal Carmel Cake again. Always so delicious.
